RPL conducted vendor commercial due diligence for Southgate Global Limited, which has been acquired by private equity firm Rutland Partners.
Southgate is a leading supplier of packaging ancillary equipment, tools and consumables in Europe, serving the rapidly growing e-commerce market. The company is a driver of innovation in the industry, with a strategic focus on sustainability.
RPL’s main task was to set Southgate’s impressive recent performance in the context of the rapid growth in the e-commerce market - especially during the Covid-19 pandemic - and give our views on the achievability of Southgate’s revenue and gross margin projections.
As well as setting out the market drivers, trends and routes to market, we also looked in detail at the performance and strategies of Southgate’s largest customers and assessed what impact these could have on the company.
We also interviewed a number of distributor and corporate customers that accounted for around 70% of the company’s most recent FY's sales and benchmarked Southgate against existing and potential competitors.
